Voice over Internet Protocol
Future of VOIP mobiles

Future of VOIP mobiles

Will Skype, Vonage and gizmo still be around next year or will the likes of Google buy them and call it Google talk.

VoIP is big technology so big Google will want in, Google talk has already be developed all though currently in beta and unable to call people who are not on Google talk it also has an Instant messenger very similar to Skype.

Msn Messenger is also on the VoIP race, they have set up a PC-PC but not to PSTN the current telephone connection, although according to there research only 10% of Skype users actually use Skype out to call PSTN, along with VoIP and instant messaging they have also set up video conferencing.

Yahoo has supported VoIP through its messaging service for some time, there are rumours of a separate application for making calls over the Internet will be released by the company in the next few weeks. This comes as no surprise that all the large Search engines are joining in at current Skype is the biggest VoIP community with over 30 million registered users.

I think it is only a matter of time before they conquer the VoIP market by either buying the major VoIP company’s or going on there own, they will always have the power to let people know there VoIP application is the best.

All of this of course will become standard on your mobile device meaning instant messaging and VoIP phone calls, these mobile devices could be mobile phones, media players, organisers, PDA's and mp3 players. The whole world will be wireless and taking full advantage of VoIP.

Google recently made the largest investment of any company on dark fibre which works with wireless, which is why I assume Google may play a big part in VoIP.
